Local Plan Part II Response

Dear Members,

An Addendum to Waverley's Local Plan Part II was released for consultation on 1st October and concludes on Friday 12th November 2021. Many of you will have already responded, however we thought sight of the Vision's submission might highlight some issues useful for those that have not yet responded. To that end please see below the key points raised:

  1. Haslemere Vision supports the withdrawal of Red Court from the site allocations due to being contrary to Neighbourhood Plan policy not to build on greenfield sites.
  2. We do not support the significant reduction in densities on central sites, particularly those on the Wey Hill Fairground as it exacerbates pressure to build outside the settlement boundaries.
  3. Given the Royal School site in Hindhead development footprint is in the majority on brownfield (previously developed land) HV supports the inclusion of this site. However, we do believe the proposed numbers are high for a development in this location.
  4. The settlement boundaries in the LPP2 Addendum are not aligned with those of the Neighbourhood Plan. We deem the inclusion of different boundaries to be unsound as it is not justified (via an appropriate strategy, taking into account the reasonable alternatives, and based on proportionate evidence). This is in all probability due to the consultations release prior to the successful NP referendum, however the discrepancy should be noted and amended before LPP2 proceeds to its next step.

To respond to the consultation directly please visit WBC's portal at https://www.waverley.gov.uk/Services/Planning-and-building/Planning-strategies-and-policies/Local-plan/Local-Plan-Part-2. You will need to download Response Forms Part A and Part B and check the guidance notes on the same page. The completed forms should be emailed to planningpolicy@waverley.gov.uk by midnight 12th Nov 2021. If you have any queries, or wish to submit your views on our response, please don't hesitate to get in touch at info@haslemerevision.org.uk.

Thank you for your continued support.
