Photographic Competition

PhotographerHaslemere Vision are holding a photographic competition to mark the start of the build up to the launch of ‘Haslemere Vision’. The launch will be held in Haslemere Hall on 27th April 2013 and its purpose is to engage with the people who live work or commute in Haslemere, Hindhead, Beacon Hill, Grayswood, Shottermill, Critchmere and Camelsdale  to come and have their say on the future of the Town and the surrounding villages.

The competition is open to all who live or work in Haslemere, Hindhead, Beacon Hill, Grayswood, Camelsdale, Critchmere and Shottermill

How to enter:

  • Take a photo of a favourite street, building, place or subject that captures what Haslemere or your village means to you.
  • Identify where or what your photo depicts.
  • Email your entry with name, address and email address to or Post your entry with your name, address and telephone number to Haslemere Vision, Haslemere Town Hall, High Street, Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2HG

Selected photos will be featured on our website and one will feature weekly in the Haslemere Herald.
Winning photos will be announced at the Haslemere Vision Launch on the 27th April 2013 at Haslemere Hall and can be seen from 11am until 4pm.

Full Terms and Conditions
The competition is due to open on Friday, 15th March.  The closing date for entries for the competition is midnight on Friday, 19th April 2013.

  1. This competition is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland aged 18 years or over. Members of Haslemere Vision Organising Committee, their families or anyone else associated with this competition may enter the competition but are not eligible to win any prizes.
  2. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the entrant agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  3. Entries can be submitted by  email to or can be posted to Haslemere Vision, Haslemere Town Hall, High Street, Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2HG.  Entries must be labelled with the entrant’s name and image files must be at least 72 dpi and less than 10MB. In order for entrants to be contactable entrants should include their own name, address and email address or telephone number.
  4. All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.
  5. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. If the entrant is under 18 years of age, a consenting adult should email the entry on behalf of the entrant. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
  6. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to Haslemere Vision to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition and Haslemere Vision.
  7. Entrants may enter more than one entry provided each is submitted in a separate email, or multiple can be submitted in the same envelope by post. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission or postage will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
  8. The winning entry will be that it is judged to be the most visually appealing, original and self-explanatory. The winner will be notified within seven days of the closing date of the competition.
  9. First prize is an iPad Mini worth just under £270.00, Second Prize is Nikon Coolpix S3300 from Reid photo, Third Prize are two Spa Treatments from  Georgian House hotel. Prizes are subject to availability.
  10. The winners may be required to take part in publicity.
  11. The winner’s name and district may be disclosed to anyone who writes within one month after the published closing date, stating ‘Photographic Competition Winner’ and enclosing a stamped addressed envelope, to Haslemere Vision, Haslemere Town Hall, High Street, Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2HG. The prizes as described are available on the date of publication. All prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
  12. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
  13. Haslemere Vision is responsible for the promotion, which is the publication and adjudication of the competition, as well as the provision of the prizes.
  14. English law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts shall prevail.
